Galileo di Vincenzo Bonaiuti de' Galilei (15 February &#;– 8 January ), commonly referred to as Galileo Galilei (, ; Italian:[ɡaliˈlɛːoɡaliˈlɛːi]) or mononymously as Galileo, was an Italian^[a]astronomer, physicist and engineer, sometimes described as a polymath.
