Country star Carrie Underwood enjoyed what was possibly the largest audience of her career this week when she performed at the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

The American Idol alum, 41, was one of a host of musicians who performed at various events surrounding Trump's official swearing-in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday, January 20.

Underwood was on hand at the ceremony itself, where she performed "America the Beautiful" acapella at the U.S.

Capitol, where she was accompanied by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.

Ahead of the ceremony, Underwood told Newsweek in a statement: "I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event.

I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."
